Barry Gaunce graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2008 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Physics. After graduating, he moved to the East Coast to pursue an engineering job at Northrop Grumman as an Engineering Liaison on the Virginia Class Submarine program. While at the shipyard, he worked closely with technicians performing work and with the project management personnel overseeing the work accomplished. He performed root cause analysis and recommended design and/or build strategy changes where systemic issues were encountered or significant cost savings could be realized. After two years at the shipyard, he began working for G&C in the Design Control department. While in Design Control, Barry worked on various programs which include LCS, Aegis Ashore, BAE Dredge, Ellicott Dredge, and Military Sealift Command. Barry joined the Machinery Engineering department in May 2014, where he performs pipe size and pressure loss calculations, along with developing piping systems for the OPC program. Barry was recently married on March 14, 2015 (pi). Outside of work, Barry enjoys watching football and hockey, going to metal concerts, playing any sport, camping, and especially loves the water
