Colin Echols

Systems Engineering Manager

This month’s employee spotlight is Colin Echols!

Colin joined Gibbs & Cox in January 2021 as the Systems Engineering Manager for the Combat and C4I Systems. He graduated from the US Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography, the Naval Postgraduate School with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a master’s in Business Administration. Colin retired from the U.S. Navy in 2016 following a 20-year career as a Surface Warfare Officer, Acquisition Professional, and an Engineering Duty Officer specializing in the US Navy’s Combat and Weapons Systems. Prior to joining G&C, Colin worked for BAE Systems supporting the NATO SEA SPARROW Project Office within PEO IWS. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, coaching high school sports, homebrewing beer, and playing golf.

We are thrilled to have Colin on our team!

“[the] team received very strong endorsement at Design Review #2 placing us in an excellent position for [future phases of the project].   Based on the superb efforts of G&C, they are our trusted design agent for Detail Design and will perform a majority of the design work. … I have been involved in naval combatant ship design for 40 years and have never seen applause at a design review like we received at DR2.  Well Done!”
