William Landay, global adviser at Avascent International, has been appointed to serve on Gibbs & Cox‘s board of directors.
Landay, a retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral, currently serves as a senior adviser at the Potomac Institute of Policy Studies and as a member of the board of directors at VT Halter Marine, Metron and WE LANDAY Consulting.
He has over 35 years of experience and held various leadership roles in the Navy including program executive officer for the Navy’s littoral and mine warfare programs.
The Navy veteran was previously director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency where he managed a $400 billion Defense Department project that provided defense technologies, equipment, training and various services to other countries.
Landay also previously served as a commanding officer of USS Aquila and USS Paul Hamilton, PEO at the Program Executive Office for Ships and chief of naval research at the Office of Naval Research.
