Gibbs & Cox, Inc. is one of the nation’s leading independent naval architecture, marine engineering and design firms.  All positions require U.S. citizenship. You will be based out of Pascagoula, Mississippi.


 The candidate shall provide support services to the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Gulf Coast (SSGC) Post Delivery Engineering, Planning and Management services to include: Provide availability certification support. Coordinate efforts during the PSA planning and execution period to ensure all the requirements for availability certification are met inaccordance with the most recent NAVSEA availability certification instruction(s). Interface with the Naval Supervising Authority (NSA), PDHM, AIT Coordinators, PSA planning and execution contractors, and all other applicable stakeholders to ensure certification requirements are incorporated into the appropriate test and inspection plan. Maintain a log of all NSA engineering comments on PSA work specifications and provide continuous updates on necessary actions to

the PDHM, PSA Planning Yard, and all applicable stakeholders. Manage the test and inspection plan provided by the planning and/or execution contractor(s) and provide up-to-date information, analysis, and recommendations to the PDHM for action. Manage the organization and documentation of all OQE during PSA, ensuring it is adequately and safely stored in electronic medium and available for review audit by the NSA. Draft all applicable documentation for key event and availability certification and route through all appropriate channels for signature. Utilize the PDMS database to aide in accomplishment of these activities. Participate in PSA Planning Conferences/Reviews, FCTs, Trial Card Screening and PRTs. Provide on-site services

in this capacity for the duration of each PSA in the ship’s homeport.

With general supervision, assist in program execution and management in a field of expertise which may include the following: engineering change proposal and configuration management, ship trial card screening and program management. Participate in the development and utilization of business processes and program tools. Interface with clients and other team members. Conduct research. Follow established procedures to develop status reports, program reports, documentation, and briefings. Manage records and correspondence.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree or higher in a relevant field from an accredited university (or 7 additional years of relevant experience)

  • 1-4 years of relevant professional experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
