Gibbs and Cox Employee Spotlight 



Philip Wu, P.E.  joined G&C in September 2016.  After obtaining his M.Eng. from UC Berkeley, he started his naval architect and structural engineer career in Houston, Texas.  He devoted many years in designing jack-up rigs, semi-submersibles, Tension-Legged Platform and naval vessels such as SWATH.  When he joined NAVSEA, he became the TPOC of surface ship shock policy and took the lead to revise the DDAM document.  Since 2003, Philip had been working closely with PEO Ships and NAVAIR to certify DDG 51 Flt IIA Aviation Facilities.

Philip and his wife, Grace, have three grown sons:  Alex (USMC Captain, White House Legal Counsel Office, who will start UC Berkeley Law School soon) and his wife Tish, Victor (Electrical Engineer working in Chicago), and Christopher (recent White House intern, who will return to Colorado College as a ParaProf for the Art Department).  Philip enjoys good food, traveling, history books, building models and cheering for the Wizards.
