This past Saturday our Newport News neighbor, Tradition Brewing unveiled their Hull 488 IPA, named for Gibbs & Cox's own SS United States delivered as hull 488 from Newport News Shipbuilding in 1952. Still the world's fastest cruise ship to transit the Atlantic!
Two Rivers Boatworks near Richmond, Virginia, recently started construction on a 30-foot cold-molded custom center console, like the one pictured here, to be powered by twin Evinrude 300 horsepower outboard motors (top speed: over 45 knots). The design is by our subsidiary Donald L. Blount and Associates, Inc.!
G&C recently attended the PEO IWS Small Business Industry Day and toured the PEO IWS War Room, which highlights the 2015-2045 Surface Navy Combat Power Plan. Flexibility and modularity of future ship designs will be critical to make the future fleet affordable and adaptable to future threats.
