PRODUCTION/INSTALLATION DESIGN PRODUCTS

Gibbs & Cox, Inc., through their efforts in both detail design of new ships and design support to shipyards, ship repairers and ship operators in conversion, overhaul, maintenance and repair of navy and commercial ships, has developed a broad based capability in development of production and installation design products.

These products support the shop and waterfront efforts required by various industrial activities to build, modify, replace, install and remove equipment, components and structure necessary to execute the ship construction, conversion, modernization or repair project. These products include shipyard work item descriptions describing the total effort for a particular yard availability; shop work packages and fabrication sketches that guide the mechanic through cut, bend and piece/part assembly processes; paint preparation/preservation guidelines; ship and system assembly instructions and installation check-out requirements; waterfront liaison support to provide quick turnaround of resolutions to installation and system performance issues; preparation of system test procedures; Ship/system condition assessment surveys and condition reports.

Gibbs & Cox, Inc. has been involved in various portions of this work, supporting efforts on CVN's, LHA's, LHD's, AS's, DDG's, LCU's, and FFG's, MSC operated AO's, AOE's, and AH's, numerous commercial vessels from ferries, to dive boats to barges.
