DIAGRAM DEVELOPMENTDiagram Development: Gibbs & Cox, Inc., as part of its capability from ship/system feasibility studies/concept design to ship construction/operation support engineering, has a very broad capacity in the development of System Diagrams. System Diagrams are sketches and drawings that convey the engineering analyses, calculations and selection decision results in visual form, and conveys how the ship or system will look to the level appropriate for the specific design phase. Depending on applicable design phase, these diagrams depict the equipment, arrangement, interconnectivity, sizes and major item quantities necessary to demonstrate functional performance, spatial relationships, and material specifications to support system evaluations, training, and installation/construction pricing estimates. These diagrams are later used as the basis of detail design development. Our expertise in diagram development applies to piping and HVAC systems, propulsion machinery systems and arrangements, general arrangement drawings, deck and auxiliary machinery systems, structural scantlings and deck/bulkhead arrangement and sections drawings, as well as electric power generating and distribution, lighting system distribution, and communications and combat system architecture and connectivity. We have supported development of diagrams at all levels of the ship development stage/life, from NAVSEA Headquarters to Commercial Ship Owner/Operator, satisfying a broad range of intended diagram uses. What this means to our customers, is Gibbs & Cox, Inc. can turn project system performance requirements into a clear, concise and coordinated set of diagrams that fully describe the subject equipment/system to whatever level of detail needed by the customer. This level of detail is determined by what the diagrams will be used for, from ROM pricing, system solution evaluation, or as basis of detail design. | | |
